Environmental Engineering Curricula

To enable students to tailor the program to best meet their needs and interests, there are options for four concentrations within the bachelor's degree program in Environmental Engineering, as listed and described below.

Click on the title to view the curriculum for each concentration.

Contaminant Transport and Control Processes: providing you with an in-depth understanding of both engineered and natural processes controlling contaminant behavior and remediation techniques

Environmental Engineering Biotechnology: familiarizing you with biological and microbial aspects of ecology and pollution control

Water Resources and Water Quality: enabling you to develop engineered solutions to mitigate the effects of droughts and floods and to clean up contaminated rivers, streams, and groundwater

Environmental Facilities Design and Construction: preparing you to develop and engineer the systems for air, water, and wastewater purification

Highlights
Jack Puleo has won the NSF Early Career Development Award
Jack Puleo, assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Delaware, has received a prestigious National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development Award to study swash zone sediment transport. The swash zone is the area near the shoreline where waves wash up and down the beach face.

The five-year $444,229 award is aimed at developing a broader understanding of the physics of coastal sediment transport in this area, thereby leading to significant improvement in the ability to predict such coastal phenomena as beach erosion and beach nourishment performance.
