Map and Directions to Du Pont Hall
Below are provided a map and directions from all major routes
to Du Pont Hall. The directions as well as a more detailed
map are available in pdf form here.
General Driving Directions
From
Baltimore and Washington, D.C.:
Take
Interstate 95 North. Continue to exit 109B (Look for
"Elkton/Newark, Del." and "University of Delaware" signs).
Exit at 109B onto Md. Rt. 279, which heads northeast towards
Newark. At the Maryland-Delaware state line, Rt. 279
becomes Del. Rt. 2 (Elkton Road) and feeds you right into
Newark. Elkton Road will eventually end and force you
to take a right turn onto Delaware Avenue. At your
second stoplight, you're at the intersection of Delaware
Avenue and South College Avenue.
You are now near the College of Engineering's five main
buildings, two of which face the University Green (including
DuPont Hall); the other three face Academy Street. You
may either park in the municipal lot (a left off of Delaware
Avenue) or proceed on Delaware Avenue and turn right onto
Academy Street at your next stoplight, continuing south until
you reach the Perkins Parking Garage on your left.
If you park in the lot on Delaware Avenue, just walk down the
Green and come into DuPont Hall, which is the second building
on your left. If you park in the Perkins Garage, you
will need to walk north on Academy Street to the intersection
of Lovett Avenue. Proceed diagonally northwest until
you come to the Green, then turn right and come up to DuPont
Hall.
From Philadelphia:
Take
Interstate 95 South to Exit 1B (Del. Rt. 896 north). As
an alternate around Wilmington, DE, you can also take I-495,
which merges with I-95 south of Wilmington. Exit onto
Rt. 896 and continue straight (road name is South College
Avenue), passing the University of Delaware Athletic Complex
on your right and the Chrysler Corporation on your
left. Continue over a bridge and go straight through
one stoplight (intersection of South College Avenue and Park
Place). You will pass by University buildings on your
right, go through a flashing yellow light and under a
pedestrian overpass before coming to your next stoplight, at
which you'll turn right onto Delaware Avenue.
You are now near the College of Engineering's five main

From New York via New Jersey Turnpike:
The
southern termination point of the New Jersey Turnpike merges
with Interstate 295 and will take you across the Delaware
Memorial Bridge. I-295 will then merge will Interstate 95.
Make sure you follow signs for I-95 south (towards Newark and
Baltimore).
Continue on Interstate 95 South to Exit 1B (Del. Rt. 896
north). As an alternate around Wilmington, DE, you can
