Class Policies

Grading:

Homework: 30%
Mid-term exam: 30%
Final exam: 40%

General Policies:

• All work submitted must be organized and legible. Assume I am your client. Assignments should be completed on engineering paper and may be either written or typed. Assignments that are not legible will not be accepted.
• Homework is due at the beginning of class on the scheduled due date. Late homework will not be accepted. You may email your homework to either the instructor or TA before the class on the scheduled due date.
• Homework solutions will be posted on the class web site.

Out-of-Class Communications:
The instructor will be available for a short time in an office one day per week to answer questions about the course or to discuss other relevant issues. The instructor travels frequently so may not be very responsive sometimes by phone or email so please be patient. It is suggested that if possible, take advantage of the time available while the instructor is on campus.

Class Attendance:
Attendance and active participation are expected and encouraged. There may not be time sometimes to cover all the questions or thoroughly finish discussions but I encourage you to participate as much as possible.

Academic Honesty:
All students must be honest and forthright in their academic studies. To falsify the results of one's research, to steal the words or ideas of another, to cheat on an assignment, or to allow or assist another to commit these acts corrupts the educational process. Students are expected to do their own work and neither give nor receive unauthorized assistance. Any violation of this standard must be reported to the Office of Judicial Affairs.
