The Center for Innovative Bridge Engineering
at the University of Delaware

In order to fulfill its mission of serving as a leading and primary resource for the world's highway and railroad bridge owners, the Center has established the following goals:

Provide a focal point for faculty members on the University of Delaware campus working in the area of bridge engineering.

Bring together researchers from many diverse disciplines and institutions to address the growing problem of maintaining and renewing bridge infrastructure.

Advance the state of the art of bridge engineering.

Attract the best students to the Center and educate outstanding bridge engineers who will eventually work for bridge owners as in-house engineers or as consultants and in academia.

Integrate knowledge developed in diverse fields of study into the field of bridge engineering.

Transfer newly developed and existing under-utilized technology to bridge owners in order to enhance the world's bridge infrastructure.
