NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Bridge Engineering

University of Delaware

Bridge engineering derives its foundation from structural engineering, and the program is best suited to students interested in structural engineering. However, bridge engineering is multidisciplinary in nature, and projects may involve other areas, including the following:

  • all aspects of civil and environmental engineering, including environmental, fluids, geotechnical, structural, and transportation.
  • other engineering disciplines, including chemical, electrical, mechanical, and materials
  • related areas, including economics, history, social science, technical writing, and education
