The following charts illustrate
a typical four-year curriculum for a civil engineering major at the University
of Delaware. BCE students may choose one of five concentrations: structural engineering,
soil mechanics and foundations, environmental and water resources engineering,
transportation, and hydraulics and ocean engineering. Technical
electives are then chosen in consultation with a faculty adviser in order
to meet concentration requirements and to pursue individual interests. Students
are encouraged to meet with their faculty advisers regularly to discuss their
progress and work out any curriculum problems or concerns.
