Jaqueline Richter-Menge Jaqueline Richter-Menge is Chief of the Snow and Ice Division of the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, NH, a position she has held since January 1997. While serving as manager for the division, she continues to maintain an active research program in the area of sea ice mechanics. The specific focus of her work is to develop a more comprehensive and quantitative understanding of the relationship between ice stress and deformation, at the full scale. The objective of this research is to improve models of sea ice dynamics, used to predict ice motion and ice thickness distributions. In association with her research programs, Ms. Richter-Menge has gained significant experience in Arctic field studies. Her areas of specialization include mechanics properties of sea ice, from laboratory tests to full-scale measurements; physical properties of sea ice; and field measurements of sea ice processes and properties.
